Kathy O'Hearn
A veteran television executive, award-winning news producer and event manager, O'Hearn was most recently at the Washington Post. She was at the helm, scaling the extensive growth of Washington Post Live's interview and events platform over 6 years.
Prior to joining the Post, she spent decades at ABC News, CBS News, CNN, The Daily Beast and MSNBC. She launched and executive-produced network news shows, live theatrical journalism, web shows; supervised news coverage in the U.S. and overseas, and produced live special events, global news summits, war coverage, and two presidential debates.
She was executive producer of This Week with George Stephanopoulos, launched and produced the Amanpour show at CNN and Ronan Farrow Daily at MSNBC. As SVP of Events & Video at Newsweek Daily Beast, she created and ran Beast TV, and led a successful live events division for editor Tina Brown that included the landmark Women in the World Summits in New York, and the division's global expansion.
Her work has earned some of the most distinguished honors in journalism including six national Emmy Awards, three Edward R. Murrow Awards, two Walter Cronkite Awards for political reporting, an Overseas Press Club Award, a Peabody and four Telly Awards. Her professional memberships include the Council on Foreign Relations and the Economic Club.
